Here’s a brief build description of the simple foam router that features in my first video – thanks for all the positive comments and personal messages, just sorry it took so long to get this posted! I may still produce kits for this router if enough people want them, I’m looking at producing something similar in size but a lot better quality then the prototype of course. I imagine it being a snap together system that would need nothing more than a screwdriver to put together.

@ZbigB77 The guide tube is for the hardboard template to run against, so it’s height should be whatever thickness of board you use as a template.
In effect the template becomes the work surface so the wire starts its angle as it leaves the tube, which is at the right height for the bottom of the foam.
Hope this makes sense?

Very nice build. You can see lots of builds online, but thiats the simplest one for making angled cuts. I will try to build a cutter like this for sure.
Just one question: why is the guide pin 2mm over the surface ? Doesnt it come in the way when you cut, especially beveled ?
Cheers

Who said it was? This is how to build a cutting table for cutting out foam PARTS FOR AN RC AIRPLANE.
Will try upload another video soon showing a full plane being cut out and assembled using this table.
