I am trying to find out what are the employer preferred schools in Georgia for degrees, if an Aviation Mechanic wants to pursue Bachelor’s degree and advance into Management. Would Embry-Riddle be preferred over an Engineering or Business degree from Georgia State, UGA or other school?

DO NOT be think that you need to go to ERAU. They will have 0 advantage over anyone else. They want you be believe that you will, but it is NOT true. Go to a regular, normal, state college, where you will not only get a much better, more rounded education, you will also get to experience COLLEGE!!! Do not overlook the importance of experiencing college. Why would anyone want to go to a school where the ratio of guys to girls is 9:1 and 95% of the guys are complete flaming idiots. Experience college, at a real college, you will enjoy it so much more and get a much better education.

I will echo previous sentiments…Go to an accredited college or university. ER has no advantage over them, and I would suspect that the tuition is higher. And the 9:1 raitio is scary in itself!! lol
Edit:
“Embry-Riddle is the best,”….Not even close.

I graduated from Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU). They have a great Aerospace department. Embry-Riddle is the best, but if cost is an issue— you may want to look into MTSU.

Generally it is either Embry-Riddle or Univ. of North Dakota. Quite frankly, college is what you make it and while is very true that Embry-Riddle has a high percentage of guys, the fact that the entire school is focused in aviation is a plus and you will be far better prepared, including having a knowledge of how aviation companies which I don’t recall a state school covering much about.
Also, Embry-Riddle alumni can be found all throughout the hierarchy of avation companies which is a clear cut advantage. I would only recommend that the state school route if you are able to find a school whose degree is highly sought after by employers.
