I’m planning on attending a nationally accredited flight acadamy. Can I apply for a federal stafford loan to cover training costs even If I’m not attending a “regular” college? Since we are almost at the end of the year do I have to wait until next year to file a FAFSA? Is it too late to get money this year?

You can ask that question to the financial aid office. They are the ones that must be capable of awarding & receiving financial aid.

I would ask the flight academy, because I am not sure, but I do know that the fafsa is too late for this year. It depends on what state you are in and what school you attend for deadlines, but they are usally they are between April and June….So when you apply try to apply early march and have your tax forms done early because you need them for filling out the fafsa.
Also, You could always take a personal loan out and you don’t have to pay until 6 months after graduation. Thats what i had to do b/c my Stafford loan was really small.

I would as th Stafford Loan agents personally if you will be able to use for training. If you have issues there is a company called Pilot Finance http://www.pilotfinance.com/ that does loan money to pay for your flight training, books, etc…. and I know that you can use that money at flight schools.
