What do you think is the better choice to go with?
I want to become a pilot but what do you think would be cheaper, and have the better training?
I flight school? or a college with a flight training program.
Thanks in advance!
Thanks!
I am allready going to college, so I can get my degrees, but they are for me to fall back on if my aviation career doesnt “take flight” (i couldn’t resist)
So the only advantage to going to a college for training, is a degree?
and college costs more right?

Basically, there are three differences between a college with flight training and a regular flight school.
The first being money. A college has the ability to obtain government grants and loans to pay for training.
The second being a degree. You cannot get a degree without attending a college. Although, some schools do work with flight schools to partner up and provide government funding. Schools such as Utah Valley University offer programs like this. You enroll in the school, get signed up for classes, get your money then take it to a pre-approved flight school.
The third is time. If you are able to afford a flight school or can get the money you need (typically 60-80 thousand dollars) and don’t need the degree now, then you might want to choose a flight school. If you cannot afford flight school, or would also like to obtain a degree, then a College is the right choice for you. A college program/fight school will take between 2-4 years to complete, while a flight school could take between 90 days to 1 year to complete.
