GRATITUDE…. AN ATTITUDE

Gratitude…. an Attitude by Karen A. Lech

It is a fresh, new day, a brand-spankin’ new morning, a blank
page on which to write another chapter, or even paragraph of my
life. The kids are off to school, the house is quiet. This
morning I sit inside in my favorite rocking chair. I usually
like to sit out on the deck, taking in the morning air and
sounds, but it rained yesterday evening and a bit through the
night, so the benches and patio furniture are too wet. It is
also much cooler out, and the skies look like they may not be
done releasing their moisture. I sip my morning coffee, steaming
hot, with just the right amount of powdered creamer and a dollop
of heavy cream, just the way I like it, and of course in a china
cup with a saucer. My hands play with luxurious yarn, soft as
butter and butter-colored too. I feel the stitches of the afghan
I am crocheting and while I do these things, as I do nearly
every morning, I pray and think. For some reason, today, this
very morning, while my mind drifts along many paths of thought,
I look at the colors and texture of this afghan/throw, call it
what you will, and I am struck as if by lightning, with
gratitude.

I was thinking about my job, praying to work different hours,
(not work at all?) and have things easier in life. More time to
devote to my children, the strength I need to take care of my
household, wishing for the money I am needing so desperately
right now. Talking to God, half-musing, I asked the question,
what am I doing wrong? Am I just lazy to want these things? BAM!
I looked at the bright colors of interwoven yarn stitches and
felt the softness, and said, “Thank you, God, for letting me do
these things, for letting me play with yarn, and for my talents.
then… bubbling out of me/my thoughts a listing of all I have to
be grateful for. I started and could not stop for the list would
be endless…

Is there a Flying school in Australia or New Zealand?

I am 13 years old and I want become a pilot. I want to start the flying school now.

Yes, there are excellent flying schools in both countries.

However, if your ambition is to become a pilot, suggest you get a copy of a book from www.workinginaviation.com that gives you the low down on schools, what airlines, want, etc.

It is a very expensive business, and you must ensure you do the right preparation (you can start to take background courses whilst at school), and you go to a school approved by airlines. There are contact details in the book, and these will probably help.

Good luck

Anatomy of a Search Engine

For some unfortunate souls SEO is simply the learning of tricks
and techniques that, according to their understanding, should
propel their site into the top rankings on the major search
engines. This understanding of the way SEO works can be
effective for a time however it contains one basic flaw: the
rules change. Search engines are in a constant state of
evolution in order to keep up with the SEO’s in much the same
way that Norton, McAfee, AVG or any of the other anti-virus
software companies are constantly trying to keep up with the
virus writers.

Basing your entire websites future on one simple set of rules
(read: tricks) about how the search engines will rank your site
contains an additional flaw, there are more factors being
considered than any SEO is aware of and can confirm. That’s
right, I will freely admit that there are factors at work that I
may not be aware of and even those that I am aware of I cannot
with 100 percent accuracy give you the exact weight they are
given in the overall algorithm. Even if I could, the algorithm
would change a few weeks later and what’s more, hold your hats
for this one: there is more than one search engine.

So if we cannot base our optimization on a set of hard-and-fast
rules what can we do? The key my friends, is not to understand
the tricks but rather what they accomplish. Reflecting back on
my high school math teach Mr. Barry Nicholl I recall a silly
story that had a great impact. One weekend he had the entire
class watch Dumbo The Flying Elephant (there was actually going
to be a question about it on our test). Why? The lesson we were
to get from it is that formulas (like tricks) are the feather in
the story. They are unnecessary and yet we hold on to them in
the false belief that it is the feather that works and not the
logic. Indeed, the tricks and techniques are not what works but
rather the logic they follow and that is their shortcoming. And
So What Is Necessary?

Top Ten Most Anticipated Returning Fall Television Shows

(For an explanation of how we at BuddyTV came across these rankings, check out our 2006 Fall Television Anticipation Rankings. It’s pretty darn cool.)
10 Most Anticipated New Shows

#1: Survivor: Cook Islands

This year, Mark Burnett has decided to create a media firestorm and divide the tribes by race (white, black, Hispanic, and Asian). Some advertisers (including Coke) have dropped their ads for ridiculous PC reasons. Here’s the rub: this is obviously a PR move by Survivor, but need we all forget that these initial tribes rarely last more than a couple episodes? It’s not like the racially divided tribes will be competing throughout the entire run of the season.
Anyway, I love Survivor; it’s undoubtedly the ultimate reality show, the producers know what they’re doing, and host Jeff Probst brings more to the table than any other host alive. Survivor: Cook Islands boasts the show’s largest cast ever, presumably in order to accommodate the racial divide. Survivor remains a great contest and an entertaining ride even into it’s 13th season.

#2: The Office

The Office is the smartest comedy I’ve ever seen. It also might be the most unique. There is no laugh track. The jokes stay away from the usual trappings of half-hour comedy (relationships, sex). The cast improvises much of the dialogue. The mockumentary aspect allows for the observational humor to pervade without dialogue. The whole vibe is just different, and it’s this freshness that leads to The Office’s appeal. That, and how funny it is.
The cast on The Office is full of original comedic talent and their ability to improvise improves upon already great writing. The dynamic between receptionist Pam and salesman Jim is unique and engrossing. Rainn Wilson as Dwight has created a ridiculous and unbelievable character that works as a perfect comic foil for every other member of the cast. Steve Carrell pulls off the impossible role of Michael Scott with aplomb, at once annoying the hell out of everyone in The Office and somehow remaining sympathetic. The characters on The Office all have layers, are all three-dimensional, and it is this depth that allows for such sophisticated comedy to occur. The Office is going strong into it’s third season, and should keep doing well for a long time.
I have absolutely nothing bad to say about The Office.

5 Benefits To Choosing A Career In Lomi Lomi

It’s no secret that massage therapists are in high demand in
Australia, however for the person looking to embark on a new
career in massage, the multitude of study options can be
overwhelming.

Should I complete a Certificate IV in massage? Should I commit
long-term and complete a diploma in massage? Or should I just
start out by learning 1 or 2 massage modalities and see if I
like it? These are common questions that people considering a
career as a bodywork practitioner find themselves asking.

In recent years a growing number of beginning massage students
are actually choosing to ’specialize’ in just 1 or 2 modalities
as opposed to completing a full Diploma, and one of the more
popular modalities is Hawaiian Lomi Lomi.

Are there any benefits to doing this?

Well, as someone who has built up a successful career in lomi
lomi over the last 10 years, I can see 5 core benefits to the
beginning student in choosing to study lomi lomi over the other
more mainstream courses.

1) Lomi Lomi Is A Very Thorough And Effective Massage
Modality.

Because the forearms are primarily used in long, continuous,
flowing motions along the body, at varying pressures, a much
broader surface of the body can be massaged with each and every
stroke.

Also, the continous flow and rhythm of the massage, as the
practitioner moves up and down the length of the body,
encourages the receiver to more easily ’switch-off’ early in the
treatment, resulting in very deep levels of relaxation.

After 90 minutes of this (the standard time-frame for a lomi
lomi) its not hard to understand why 90% of clients feel like
they have really had a thorough, complete and rejuvenating
massage after receiving a lomi lomi.

I need to borrow a loan of £80,000 to go to a flying school. But i dont have any sort of security in return.?

You Can’t Steal in Slow Motion-real Estate Deals Wait for No One

Charlene and her daughter Tanya wanted more out of life than their small two bedroom one-bath apartment could provide. Tanya had been begging for a cocker spaniel puppy for two years now. Apartment rules would not allow a dog. The laundry facilities were downstairs and at the far end of the building. Laundry tended to back up until the weekends when at an odd hour, in order to schedule an uninterrupted couple of hours as to avoid the rush on the washer and dryers. Many times the dollar changer was out of change. So upon leaving work, Charlene would need to make a special trip to the bank to load up on quarters. She had her paycheck direct deposited so this was a real pain. Anyway, with thin walls sleep was a real luxury and many a night, in spite of complaints to management, she got little sleep. Last week, someone had broken into her car by breaking her window and stole her radio. How no one had seen or heard the commotion was amazing. The police theorized that the thief must have wrapped something around the striking tool to blunt the sound. Insurance only covered a part of the loss. The apartment scene was really wearing thin on Charlene’s last nerve.

It was 6:00 AM and the fun was about to begin. Tanya, being in the fourth grade had qualified for a special magnet school with advanced studies but was almost an hour away. They would have to leave no later than 7:00 AM to arrive at the school and allow for time to get to work.

Entertainment in Nottingham

Nottingham has a delightful array of fascinating tourist attractions, suiting everyone from the history buff to the Robin Hood fan, but the city has a lot to offer beyond half-day excursions for out-of-towners. For those who live in the city proper, or in its surrounding conurbation, and for those who visit on day trips and holidays, there is music of all sorts, theater, dining, shopping, sport and nightlife. Entertainment is rich and plentiful in the modern city of Nottingham.

For classical music, there are several performing groups to choose from, including the Nottingham Symphony Orchestra, the Nottingham Philharmonic Orchestra, the Harmonic Society, the Bach Choir, the Symphonic Wind Orchestra, and the Early Music group Musica Donum Dei. The government also sponsors an annual series of orchestral concerts known as the Nottingham Classics, and the Nottingham Music Society hosts chamber music performances at the Castle Gate Congregational Centre.

The city is home to several other exciting music venues, including the Royal Concert Hall and the Nottingham Arena, which feature a wide variety of modern performers. More intimate shows are played at club venues such as Junktion 7, The Old Angel, the award-winning Rock City and its sister venues, and many more. Nottingham has a very lively pub and club scene, sustained by young adults from the University of Nottingham and Nottingham Trent University. The local music scene has produced the bands Swing Out Sister, Ten Years After, Paper Lace, Tindersticks, Stereo MCs, Pitchshifter and Consumed.

The discerning theatre buff may attend plays at the Nottingham Playhouse, the Theatre Royal, and the Nottingham Arts Theatre. Smaller local theatres include Albert Hall Nottingham, the Bonington Theatre, the Clarendon Community Theatre, the Courtyard Theatre, and the Lakeside Arts Centre. Each year Newstead Abbey hosts summer theatre, with Shakespeare and other offerings, while in the winter time they present nostalgic Christmas pageants.
