A nice scenic view of downtown Toronto. This was at Toronto Island Air Flight School at Billy Bishop City Center airport in Toronto. (Before takeoff, first the instructor asked me to complete a short oral test where I had to explain some basics I knew through flight simulator-this determined how much of the actually flying he would let me do. FIRST FLIGHT LESSON*HD*High Quality ***14 year old Pilot-At Toronto City Center Airport-First Takeoff and Landing (right on the centerline LOL but a little 5 to 8 knot crosswind and a bounce and skid = D still priceless experience lol) Note:*I don’t think the flight instructor guy even used flaps for takeoff just for landing, weird checklist lol but take off speed was still normal…but u could actually feel the plane slow down when it took off, just enough to “concern” you lol First Ever Flight Lesson/Full flight: (Introductory FAM)-Cruise Altitude was like 2, 500 Feet Visual Flight Rules CYTZ-Toronto City Center Airport “Billy Bishop” AWESOME-Did some negative and positive Gs, steep turns, stalls and why not let me take off and land the plane? lol = D What life experience! Quoting my Indian flight instructor lol just jokes: “We don’t want to hit the CN Tower, we just want to see it.” LOL SO JOKES-What a great guy lol! Who knows lol i may have landed on one wheel = D lucky it didn’t break lol!

Look if you actually are familiar with flying one for real then yes. SIM DOES NOT COUNT
. If he does it right he will talk to you first find out home much you know. He will teach you how to taxi and teach you how to take off. My instructor let me land the first time I flew, but apparently that doesn’t happen very often so that might be something you do not get to do your first flight.

IF I TELL THE INSTRUCTOR I AM FAMILIAR WITH FLYING A CESSNA 172 OR WHATEVER CESSNA IT WAS, CAN I DO MORE THAN JUST MOVE THE YOKE AROUND A LITTLE AT 1000 FEET? LIKE CAN I HELP WITH THE TAXI AND TAKEOFF AND THE LANDING OR EVEN ACTUALLY DO THE LANDING ALL BY MYSELF WITH HIM WATCHING? PLEASE RESPOND!

@IMACOOLBOY12 Flight lessons cost a lot. About $250 per hobbs hour. I started during the summer, but it gets really hot in those planes. I would start in the early spring. If you have any other q’s just ask it is fine.

@IMACOOLBOY12 You do not need any experience. Call a local airport to see if they have any flight schools, but no huge airports because those usually do not have fly schools.

great flight! i just had an introductory flight yesterday. it was pretty sick. i got to fly around the cn tower a couple of times and then we did some steep turns and +/- g’s. it was pretty sick, had tons of fun. it was too windy, for me to do a take off or landing as some experienced pilots were struggling. oh well! i have 0.9 hours logged dual time!

You have been playing way too much sim. You don’t need flaps to take off in a cessna. I’m 14 and have 50.3 hours and 101 landings. What are you up to now?

@edlitz36
Got the same response from a pilot I know, and am actually doing that very same thing. Thumbs up to your comment so everyone can see and not go about wasting cash at 14 LOL

@sams1764 “So, at 14 when you start lessons,? you can have a flying experience for 2 years before you fly solo.” No, no, no. That is the`complete opposite of what you’d want to do. If you start flying at 14 on a weekly basis, you won’t retain the info very well from lesson to lesson. Ask any flight instructor. You retain knowledge better the more often you fly (3-4 times a week), the quicker you complete your lessons with less money spent. You need to be 17 so it pays off to wait til you’re 16.

@edlitz36 There is a good reason why start taking flying lessons at 14 because you said that you have to be 17 to get your private pilot license (I dont know about recreational certificate though). Also, cooldanber said that you have to be at least 14 to log hours towards your Private Pilot License. And he said that you need to be 16 to fly your first solo. So, at 14 when you start lessons, you can have a flying experience for 2 years before you fly solo.To save money, have a lesson once a week

14 years old is the minimum age limit for when you can start to log hours towards your PPL when your 16 you can fly solo and when your 17 you can get your PPL

@Twistygirl97 Why the hell would you start taking lessons at 14? You can’t even get licensed til you’re 17. It’s just a waste of money.
