How to choose Backpacks and Luggage?
We are going on a 2 week trip where we will be doing a lot of city walking. What should we look out for when we buy our backpacks luggage and travel accessories?

Quality is number one, plus size is important. For your backpack, try on different ones, each of you. If you plan to do a lot of walking with a backpack on, get one with a waist belt. Be sure the straps are comfy too. For luggage, get one with wheels, but be sure to not get it too big. Too big means over 50 lbs of stuff can go into it and that means more money when flying. Always weigh your luggage before leaving home too. I really like L.L.Bean luggage, They guarantee all their products. I have sent back 2 pieces of luggage after 6 months of use and they gave us brand new ones, no charge, except for shipping. They had faulty zippers.

If you are getting luggage, make sure you get one with sturdy wheels that doesn’t tip over.
I’ve been on a few 2 week trips traveling to different cities by train, etc. and have had a couple of different experiences with my own luggage and friends. On one trip a friend insisted that she bring a back pack. I had a rolling type carry-on luggage with me. She could not handle the backpack after a while because her back started hurting and it became cumbersome so make sure you try it on and it’s comfortable with everything inside. Another one of my friends had a rolling type luggage that ended up having a wheel pop off on a cobblestone street in Wales, unfortunately she had to carry a heavy bag the rest of the trip.

Quality and looks. You want to make sure that the luggage and backpacks that you buy are made of quality, sturdy and well put together materials so that all your belongings are looked after properly despite suffering the rigors of the journeys and traveling.
Secondly you want them to look good. Luggage and certainly backpacks are to a certain extent an extension of your clothes – you want them to look good!
