And if you do have to take a flight physical, then where do you go to take a physical? Do you just go to any doctor and ask for a physical. I want to go to flight school to learn how to fly small airplains and get my commercial license.
No….. but in order to get a liscense… you need to at least hold a class 3 medical…

talk to one of the schools.
To hold an FAA license, you will need a physical exam- since part of your training will include solo flight, I would assume that you’ll need the exam done before you get very far in training.

You need to have you medical certificate completed by an FAA physician prior to any written or practical exams such as your solo flight. Some flight schools require it before the 3rd lesson.

The other answers are partially correct.
If you plan on getting a Private Pilot certificate, you will need a 3rd class medical as a minimum before you solo.
However… there is no requirement to get an FAA medical if you will be pursuing a Sport Pilot certificate. The training is identical except that Sport Pilots don’t learn about night flying or radio navigation because they are limited to day flight. There are speed and weight limitations for the planes as well. Think: Two people, Piper Cub sized plane. Just a tiny bit smaller than a Cessna 152, but better than ultralights.
