Flying lessons run anywhere from $500-$1000 to gain one lesson “hour”
in order to come close to a pilots license you need over a thousand hours worth of training.
this also depends on what aircraft you are flying.
There are schools you can go to, or have a licensed professional train you.

At most flight schools or flying clubs, they usually will have an intro flight which lasts about half hour to an hour. This cost usually is anywhere between $50 to $100. The airplane you usually fly for this intro flight is a Cessna 152 or Piper Cherokee or something similar. If you want lessons then it definitely costs a lot more. The average price for an instructor is $45/hour and the airplane cost can run anywhere from $80/hour to $120/hour wet rate or even more because it depends on what type of airplane your club or school has to offer. There is sometimes a membership fee and then you usually get a discount on the price of the airplane rental but not necessarily the instructor cost. The club or school may also offer a program where they will give you block rates to save on some cost of the airplane, but you have to complete those hours within a certain time limit, usually a month, and you have to pay up front.

At $25 a month you earn enough in a whole year for about 3 hours of instruction. If that is all you can fly a year, you are wasting your money. Get a paper route, wash cars, mow lawns, chop wood, any thing to earn money if you are really serious about learning to fly. You will need to be able to spend $6,000 to $10,000

I only answered this cause the other answers seemed harsh.
Check the local airports for a low priced demo ride. This will get you started you will get to operate the plane in flight and see if you like it. There are schools that are cheap. Its not top notch instruction but you will learn and get a license. As anything in life if its your dream always continue working in that direction. Good luck and Merry Christmas.

As others have said, your allowance won’t cover much of anything.
To earn your private pilots license, you will need at least $6,000. Probably more like $8,000 though. Google “flight training scholarships.” And lots will come up. Also, check out Women in Aviation scholarships and Flygirls. There are lots available specifically for women and for students.
You can get your license at 17, so for the sake of saving up money you should probably wait until a few months past your 16th birthday to start flying.
Another option is getting a job. Babysit, mow lawns, housework, etc. Or you could try to convince your parents to pay for it… good luck.
Chase your dreams.

I agree the other answers were not at all encouraging. There is such a need for the next generation of pilots.
So – Here are a few : Get involved with the Civil Air patrol, get on a Young Eagles flight through a local EAA chapter. http://www.eaa.org/youngeagles/
Flight lessons can be in other than a Cessna/Piper aircraft. Look into PPG, PPC, UL, Flex wing, gliders, balloons. LSA You can be flying PPG in less than 10 hours of training and under $2000. More recreational flight time occurs in other than Cessna’s and Pipers.
Watch this video blog – http://www.eaa.org/apps/blog/learntofly/Default.aspx about learning to fly sport pilot.

Look up EAA chapter in your area, connect with them for a Young Eagles flight. It’s free –
spend some time on the EAA website – and the video library. Hours and hours of great video about all things aviation. http://www.eaa.org/video/ http://www.eaa.org/spiritmovie/
see you in the air soon
