www.iheartheli.com Model helicopters are exciting and very challenging to fly. The learning curve is steep, but In the challenge lies the reward. Are you up to the task? I am starting this Flight school to help others learn to fly these exciting machines.

Thanks 99Sixer, 288 mm blades will not damage your heli, but it would be more stable with the longer blades. Consider that most of the lift is created by the outside few centimeters of the blade which are travelling faster than the rest of the blade. You shrunk it more than a cm which is why you either had to add rpms or pitch.
I would say fly em if ya got em! Next time get 315 or even 325 blades. The Align woodies are great. I fly frp blades, they can be had for pretty cheep now.

Hi I love your videos, very usefull, but I did have a minor crash, just main rotors blades damaged, my question is, without knowing I replaced the with shorter blades (from 315mm to 288mm), could this damage my heli (falcon 3D)? it seems to fly well, I did inreased the pitch a bit, though. Thanks

The Mad Hawk looks like a nice starter FP heli. I like how the tail motor drives a shaft. If you have one already then great! Excede has become a pretty good brand.
I personally have never been able to get an FP heli to fly very well.
A good tip is to get a heli that you think you would want in 1 year from now. It will be challenging to get started, but later you will be glad. So you may want to go ahead and get a 3D machine for starters such as the Excede Blue Ray.

The hunter would be fun, and I started out with a coax once upon a time. It will fly very stable because of the two sets of counter-rotating blades.
The flight school lessons are not intended for coax helicopters, they are meant for single rotor helicopters that are much harder to fly.
0TOM007 is correct that a Honeybee Fixed Pitch is a good beginner single rotor heli.
I actually recommend skipping straight to the Exceed Genesis or some other 450 class heli with 2.4Ghz transmitter.

Well, believe it or not you probably already have an extra balance bar! For coax heli I have found many fun solutions using wire coat hangers. You can clamp some little fishing split leads on the ends and Bob’s your uncle.
I have used safety pins also for little bits here & there. Getting creative is key.
BBQ skewers and ping pong balls work for training gear.

Yea I saw the heli way up in the tree. Perhaps one of your kitties would be so kind as to fetch it!
I got my plane down one time with a bean bag tied to a long piece of chord and managed to snag it.

Some good info there! I never thought about scooting around on the floor to get used to the controls…a good idea, wish I’d known about that before crashing my copter awhile back on it’s maiden flight!! LOL
