Assuming I buy an RC helicopter, how would you get it to drop socks? (Multiples, or one at a time.)
It needs to be simple and not too costly.

You’re probably going to want some Very Small Socks (Barbie?)
If you need to drop a sock on demand, you will need a control channel on your RC helicopter, which probably makes it that much more expensive, though perhaps this is a common RC helicopter task (so the copter, I mean, might come with a ‘hook’ which can be caused to open/close based on a button on the controller. Again, that doesn’t sound cheap.
Alternatively you might be able to achieve dropping by using special good flying. Imagine the copter has a horizontal ‘pin’ aimed towards the front (but moounted below the center of gravity). Then if you could tilt the copter forward, a sock might be able to ‘slide off the pin’,
Where you adjust the angle of ‘the pin’ as needed to match the flight characteristics of your chopper.
(and maybe it would be better with the pin sticking backwards). Anyway, requires leet flying skills to not drop the payload prematurely.
And probably needs a low friction connection to the sock. like a teflon ring sewn to the socket.
But I think you’ll find that socks are heavy, compated to the lifting power of an inexpensive RC vehicle.

It’s not very expensive, but might be a little complicated to attach.
