Looking skyward, with stomachs churning, C2M Executive Editor Kevin Loker and then-Podcast Director Matt Loffman traveled to Warrenton-Fauquier Airport to go flying with George Mason University’s future Flying Club. The club, which was officially instated as a university student group this spring, has since as gathered close to 200 Facebook fans and 50 official members, 29 of whom gathered on Saturday for the clubs first-ever Flight Day. A BNSF train P-MEMSSE carrying Boeing fuselodges and other aircraft parts for 737′s near Spokane, WA. The are two full plane bodies and a cockpit section for another plane. The large boxes also carry sections for the 737. The aircraft parts come from Wichita, Kansas and are transported to Everett, Washington.

For starters, the views can be truly spectacular. on a moonless night, the bright lights from below make it easier to spot adjacent terrain and obstacles. If you want to avoid turbulence, night (and early morning) is one of the best times to fly. Winds die down at night, which reduces mechanical turbulence, particularly over hills and terrain.
