Career Training for Aviation Mechanics

To get career training as an Aviation Mechanic, you need to find an institute that runs Aviation Mechanics programs. Make sure that you only go for an accredited institute otherwise you may not get job offers after completing training. With the right kind of career training, Aviation Mechanics can earn anything in the range of $43,000 to $120,000.

Educational Requirements

To get career training, you need to satisfy certain eligibility criteria with regard to education. Individuals with a Bachelor degree can easily get admission into this training program. If you do not have a Bachelor degree, you may need to take an entrance exam.

What You Learn During Training

During training, you will learn about aviation technology, aviation maintenance management, fundamentals of avionics instrument, aircraft computer systems, aviation electronics and composite materials. As you move to the level, you get an overview of flight instrumentation, navigation aids, homing systems, aircraft communications, sensory systems and radar.

Job Profile

Working as an Aviation Mechanic, it is your responsibility to conduct inspections and maintenance of aircraft engines, pressurized sections and landing gear. With more sophisticated planes, the mechanic is given a task of retrieving important diagnostic data from the consoles and electronic boxes that track the basic routines of the plane.

It is the job of the Aviation Mechanics to handle all maintenance records associated with the aircraft. When analyzing an engine, you will need direct access to it. In some cases, you need to disassemble the engine with the help of specialized equipments and for invisible cracks, you may need X-ray equipment. Once your engine analysis is finished, you must substitute or repair any defective parts.

Aviation Mechanics also repair composite surfaces and sheet metal. When measuring control cable tension, you need to be extra careful. Aviation Mechanics specializing in power plants are work on the engines. However, their role is limited when it comes to propellers. Aviation Mechanics specializing in airframes can work on any aircraft part but they are not allowed in the equipment and power plant. A&P Mechanics can implement work on all aircraft parts except equipment. The airframe consists of fuselage, tail assembly and wings brakes.

The main responsibility of Avionics Technicians is to repair and maintain the aircraft’s avionics systems. These systems are an important part of the overall aircraft design. With the advancement in technology, more and more Aviation Mechanics focus on repairing electronic systems.

Institutes Offering Career Training for Aviation Mechanics

Penn Foster Career School – By taking admission at Penn Foster Career School, you get career training for Aviation Mechanics at affordable rates. Penn Foster Career School is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Secondary Schools and the Accrediting Commission of the Distance Education and Training Council.

Aerolearn.com – Aerolearn.com is ideally suited for Aviation Maintenance professionals looking to increase their knowledge base. Aerolearn.com runs more than 450 short online courses on Aviation Maintenance.

I flight school? or a college with a flight training program.

Thanks in advance!
Thanks!

I am allready going to college, so I can get my degrees, but they are for me to fall back on if my aviation career doesnt “take flight” (i couldn’t resist)

So the only advantage to going to a college for training, is a degree?
and college costs more right?
