I agree with you but this incident will never receive the same recognition.
1) It was a cargo plane with no passengers to have been saved (removes the “hero” worship scenario)
2) Happened in Baghdad, far away from most of us.
3) There are very few images of it available. 1549 has video of the landing and rescue.
Not at all to take away from 1549 (that one was also very cool), but this incident was one of the most amazing feats in the history of aviation.

Illuminati=ET kin aka gods, Ea, dragons, angels/demons, Satan, Pepsi, naga, vampires, bluebloods, Al Gore, Windsors, Rothschilds, Rockefellars etc who rule cults like Freemasonry. Their agenda: repeatedly cull/victimize people via vaccines/other poisons, carbon taxes, Codex Alimentarius, internet 2, WW3 then stage an alien invasion to get a fascist world government/religion with us chipped. I think this crash is 100x better than the Hudson River crash of US Airways flight 1549. This is so much more amazing.

Full tanks don’t explode, partially empty tanks can if air introduction is not overwhelmed by vapor-point. Note also the pilots, who had the brains to put the thrust reversers full on before gear collapsed were told to stop, just as wtc occupants were told to go back inside.

Thats a bad day for those guys, get hit by a missle, loose all control, draining fuel tank and landing in a mine field.

unfortunately as it stands the aircraft with flares would not be allowed near most airports due to the extreme fire risk.

Many aircraft, including most military aircraft, DO have reduntant hydraulic systems, but many lines are often routed together by necessity. An aircraft can only be so reduntant… until it just weighs too much to be effective.

Thank God, you would think Airbus would have learned something from the DC-10 fiasco at Souix City. Put hydraulic fuses in the system.

Haha! I was thinking more along the lines of cables. But in this scenario… counter-measures would have helped.

Yes, we must immediately build passenger-airlines SAM-proof! Seriously, not even military aircrafts can do that…

Aircraft should have a redundancy, a voting logic! It is greed that sends us into the skies without safety-critical systems.

I was there that day, and watched them come in on fire. mY UNIT, 203RD ENG BN, Missouri National Guard, lived near the end of the runway. Most of our unit came out to watch and hope they made it in. They could not make the first attempt. The aircraft was drifting toward us. they had to go back around even while on fire. We could clearly see the fire on the wing. They landed and went off the runway in the sand which helped put the fire out. Our unit later pulled the aircraft with our dozer.

The 787 is incorporating individual hydraulic power drive units for all flight control surfaces, so your dilemma is solved.
